"I am so proud and so happy that I helped come up with the code!" said Chester Nez on Tuesday at Wausau East High School. Chester Nez and 28 other men developed the only unbroken code in modern war fare. He is the last of  the original Navajo code talkers of WWII. Chester, like Louie from the book Unbroken, was very proud to have served the country. The events at Pearl Harbor upset Chester very much, so he decided when the Marines came to his school, in Mew Mexico, looking for Navajo Men volunteers, he would join. Even though Chester didn't like how the US government had treated the Navajo people in the past he had been raised to be a warrior and fight for what he loves, and for his land. Having the Navajo code was a turning point in history because up until the code the Japanese could figure out when or what we had planed so we couldn't attack them with out them knowing, but when they couldn't figure out the code we started to when battles because we could sneak up on them. Because of the hard work of Chester and the other 28 men, America won WWII.
